Detailed instructions on uploading pictures

Once you have contacted webmaster@bhsbandalumni.org and have an account set up these are the instructions to upload your photos.

• Log in to www.bhsbandalumni.org
• Click on Gallery
• You should be able to see the "Upload Album" which will not appear unless your account has been specifically set up to upload photos by the webmaster
• Click on "Upload Album"
• You should now see an album with your name, click on it (if no pictures are present click on "no thumbnail"
• This is your personal upload album, no one except those who will approve the photos can see this.
• Near the bottom of the content pane is a drop down menu labeled "« album actions »" Click that
• Actually uploading photos
  • To help us when approving your photos please make sub-albums within your personalized album so we can just move the entire folder into the correct public album
  • To create a sub-album
    • From the "album actions" drop down menu select "add album"
    • A new page will come up, you will need to enter a name, and title for each sub-album
      • NOTE: The name for the sub-album can not contain spaces
    • Click "Create"
    • You can now select "Add a photo!"
  • To upload images:
    • From the same "album actions" drop down menu select " Add Items" (if the album is empty the link "add a photo!" will do the same thing)
    • Depending on the number of photos you have there are several methods of uploading photos (which are listed at the top of the "Add Items" page
      • "From Web Browser" best for uploading a few images, just add files like you would attach to an email. Then click "Add Items" at the bottom of the page
      • For a number of photos, use the "Upload Applet." This requires java, but lets you add an entire directory of photos at once.
        • click the "Add Photos" button at the bottom
        • find the folder on your computer that has the pictures you want to upload
        • You can either highlight them all or go up a level and select the entire folder.
        • It will then have a list of the pictures on the screen and you click"Upload".
        • NOTE: It may take a while to add the pictures to the list, and to upload them depending on how many photos you do at one time.
• Once your photos are in your directory a staff member will look through them and then they will be moved into one of the albums that the public can view.
